Abstract

Levarnisole and Nigella sativa L. are known to be used as immunostimulants The present study aimed to estimate the biochemical changes of some blood parameters as J)hagocvtic activity, total protein, albumin, globulins, antibody titer, liver enzyme and blood urea. For performing the present study 15 clinically healthy male rams of the same breed were used. Rams were divided into 5 equal experimental groups each of 3 rams. The control group did not receive any treatment or vaccination, the control positive group was vaccinated with sheep poxvirus, the third group was vaccinated and treated with levamisole while the fourth group was vaccinated and treated with Nigella sativa L. and the last one vaccinated and treated with levamisole and Nigella sativa L.
Blood samples were collected after 0, 7, 14 and 21 days from the jugular vein. Two samples were collected, the first one was used fresh for determination of phagocytic activity and phagocytic index, while the second sample for separation of serum. The serum was used for determination of biochemical parameters (total protein, albumin, globulin, antibody titer, liver enzymes and blood urea).
