Abstract
Fire fighters are at great risk of bodily harm as they are usually exposed to toxic and irritant gases from combustion and smoldering products.
The aim of this work is to compare the prevalence of respiratory symptoms, ventilatory pulmonary functions impairment and electrocardiographic changes between fire fighters and their matched controls, and also to relate the ventilatory lung function findings and electrocardiographic findings to the severity, frequency and duration of exposure to fire smoke among firemen .
