Abstract Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA)is the commonest type of true aneurysm and have a high propensity to rupture, which make them a significant health care problem. In USA, rupture of the abdominal aortic aneurysms are the 15th leading cause of death overall and the 10th leading cause in men older than the age of 5. Treatment of an asymptomatic aortic aneurysm is indicated when the risk of rupture outweighs the risk of operation. Thus, the indication for elective repair depends substantially on the risks of the procedure. But the long-term efficacy of the repair is an important factor also. |
