Abstract

CAD main cause of mortality in women.
- Increasing incidence of CAD worldwide.
- Difficulties in diagnosis of CAD in women is due to:
 Atypical presentation
 False positive results of Stress testing
- Influence of culture and socioeconomic factors on mode of presentation.
- Lack of data about Egyptian women.
- Need for diagnostic criteria in Egyptian women.
Results:
In patient referred for CA ,DM AND HTN were more prevalent in females than in males(61.6%vs 42.2%and 64.4% vs 46% respectively) while smoking was rare in Egyptian females(6.8%). There was no differences between the 2 groups regarding dyslipidemia while F.H. was slightly more common in males the provisional clinical diagnosis (UA vs ACS) and mode of presentation (typical vs atypical anginal pain) and results of non invasive testing in males and females were all not statistically significant.
