Abstract
Two experiments were carried out in the present investigation, one at the Agricultural Experimental Station of the National Research Centre, Shalakan road, El-Kalubia Governorate and the other, under the wire Screen of the National Research Centre, Dokki, Giza, to study the effect of the applied herbicides; linuron (Afalon) and metribuzin (Sensor) at the recommended rate(R) and half the recommended rate (1/2 R) as well as hand hoeing treatment (twice ) on growth and production of one of the main crops in Egypt namely (Vicia faba L. var Giza 2) and some of its associated potted weeds (Beta vulgaris and Malva parviflora) and field weeds (annual weeds ; Avena fatua, Medicago hispida, Beta vulgaris, Polypogon monspeliensis, Malva parviflora and Rumex dentatus and perennial weeds; Convolvulus arvensis and Cyperus rotundus) during two successive growing seasons (1994-1995 and 1995-1996).
