Abstract
Chemokine RANTES remains highly suspected of a major role in asthma, chiefly because of its potent chemotactic effect on eosinophils. Also, it causes cellular activation and inflammatory mediators release by eosinophils and basophils. It has been implicated for many years in many allergic and inflammatory diseases. Asthma is a chronic inflammatory diseas of the lungs that typically characterized by an increased influx of eosinophils.
