Abstract Preeclampsia is the development of hypertension and proteinuria and/or pathological edema in pregnancy after 20 weeks of gestation in previously normotensive non-proteinuric women and regress postpartum, The reported incidence varies between 5-10% of all pregnancies, Although the exact cause of pre eclampsia is yet not known but certain predisposing factors are well determined like age, primiparity, black races, familial tendency, lower social class, malnutrition, obesity, pre-existing medical disorders, hyperplacentosis & past history of pre eclampsia. |
