Abstract
Treatment of malignancy of thyroid gland has undergone numerous advances in the last years.
Radiotherapy and surgery have become increasingly sophisticated and more recently chemotherapy has begun to make a contribution. Allied to this have been the enormous improvements in the radiological imaging with the advent of computerized tomography (C.T.) and magnetic resonance imaging (M.R.I) scanning, together with progress in tissue and cell pathology (Cohn et al., 1984).
