Abstract
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) or hepatoma is the commonest primary malignant neoplasm of the liver. There are many predisposing factors including direct carcinogens such as aflatoxin, chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis, particularly postnecrotic and that associated with haemochromatosis.
Triphasic helical computed tomography (CT) has rapidly gained acceptance as the preferred CT technique for routine liver evaluation because it provides image acquisition at peak enhancement of the liver parenchyma during single breath hold.
The goal of our study was to emphasize the value and diagnostic potentialities of helical CT in primary malignant hepatic neopalsms.
