Abstract The persent work aima at investigating the relation between matabolic and genetics variations in Tilapia Ziillii and levels of pollution in Lake Mariut In order to achieve such a Purpose six different locations varying in pollution were selected and water samples in addition to fish {Tilapia Zillii}caught from these locations were investigated empolying a variety of bioassays and genotoxic ones as well the results obtained from this investigation can be summarized as follows: 1-investigation of population density of Tilapia Zillii during a period that ranged from summer 1991 to summer 1993 {9seasone}discloses the capability of location in inducing significant decreases in fish population density in addition seasonal flucation was also found affect the density of fish population 2-Analysis of heavy metals in water samples revealed that copper ranged from 4025 to 28.16 ppm for the locations 1and 2 respectively cadmiun was found to be ranged from 9.30 to28.30 ppm 3- Analysis of fish orangs that A-In gills B- Muscles were found to contain copper C- Sleen was to proven to coni=tain copper D- Kidneys were found to cnotain copper E- Liver analyzed from heavy metals revealed that it contained copper 4- Investigation of enzyme activity showed that : A- The activity of glutamic pyruvic transaminase ranged from 10.15 to 46.00 units/mg tissue protein reflecting the effect of location B- activity of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase rangged from 36.07 to 100.49 units C- activity of acid phosphatase was determined in liver and brain as well D- Acetylcholinesterase displayed differential activity that ranged from 1.30 to 3.25 units 5- Determinatio of liver protin showed that a wide range 6- Hepato -somatic index ranged from 1.058Location to 3 location 7- Anallysis of nucleic acids and total proteins in theflesh revealed |
