Abstract
To investigate the possible pathological effects of some commonly used antibiotics, 138, Balady chiokens
of about two months age were divided into two major groups and control. The birds in group I were subdi-
vided into 4 subgroups. They were given terramycin in the dr inking water. Birds in subgroup 1 were given
terramycinin therapeu’cic dose for 7, 14. 28, 56 and 112 days, Chickens in ill bgroups 2,3 and 4 were given doUble, triple and quadripletherapeutic doses of teramycin respectively for 7 days Than the birds were sacrificed arrl necropsied afterthesepredeterminod periods.
-The birds in group 1I were also subdivided into 4- subgroups, which were given gallimyc in in the drinking
water Ga1limycin was given in therappeutic dos~s for the chickens in subgroup 1 for, 3, 6, 12, 24, 48, and
96 days. Double, triple and quadriple therapeutio doses of gallimycin were given to subgroups~ 2, 3 and 4 resp6~tively for 3 days~ Saorification of the birds and postmorten examination were performed after the predetermined periods~The birds in both groups showed more or less similar
