Abstract

Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) is associated with chronic respiratory
disease in chickens and infectious sinusitis in turkeys.Mycoplasma synoviae (MS) infection most frequently occurs as a
subclinical upper respiratory disease that may become systemic and result
in infectious synovitis that is an acute or chronic infectious disease of
chickens and turkeys. MG and MS infections cause economic losses due to include reduced egg production, lowered hatchability of chicks and downgraded meat quality. This study was planned to evaluate the immunological effect of
prepared MG and MS bacterins in layer chickens. 1- For evaluation of these vaccines, field experiment on 400 one day - old chicks were divided into four groups (100 for each). The first group vaccinated with MG bacterin, the second vaccinated with MS bacterin, the third was vaccinated with MG& MS bacterin, and the fourth group was kept as control non- vaccinated. 2- The duration of immunity after vaccination with the prepared vaccines was determined by detection of MG and MS antibodies in sera of different vaccinated groups by SPA and ELISA. 3- SPA test could detect positive of MG and MS antibodies could be detected from 8 weeks old until the end of the experiment.
