Abstract Hepatitis C infection is amajor health problem in Egypt. Residents of Egypt’s Nile Delta hacve among the world the highest seroprevalence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. The objectiveof this work was to asses the prevalence of HCV antibodies (HVC-Ab) among blood doinors attending blood bank in El-Menoufiya University Hospital in year 2006. This study included 7003 blood donors (5399 of them were from El-Menoufiya governorate) that were subjected to the following tests. -Detection of anti-HCV antibodies. -Detection of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). -Detection of anti-human immunodeficiency virus (HTV) antibodies. |
