Abstract
The present study was designed to investigate the chemical compostion of purlanse and rocket seeds growing in Egypt, Studing their fatty acids, and unsabonifialible matters (hydrocarbon\, and sterols), - compared with flaxseed and fish oils- and evalution their hypolipedemic effect on plasma lipid profiles, and liver function on rats fed on high fat deit in the hope of throwing light upon their dietary prevention of atherosclerosis, also studing the effect of purslane, rocket, mixture purslane and rocket, flaxseed, and fish oils,as only source of fat in diets compared with standard deit on plasma lipid profiles and liver function, to investigate the the purslane and rocket seed oils as a new source of vegetable oils.
