Abstract
Avian influenza is an infectious disease of birds caused by type A strain of the influenza virus. The disease was first indentified in Italy more than 100 years ago, and now occurs allover the world in poultry and also in humans .
Egypt has the highest know cluster of human bird flu cases outside Asia, with 19 deaths out of the 43 known confirmed human cases since the virus first surfaced in Egyptian poultry at February 2006 .
