Abstract Owing to the problems which may occur when children are scheduled for surgery. It was decided to: I Study and compare some e-F-Fects of the anti- cholinergic drugs: Atropine sulphate, Hyoscine hydrobromide and Glycopyrronium bromide. * Find out the suitable and ideal anti- cholinergic drug as regards its e-F-Fects on CVS, respiration, body temperature, gastric volume and acidity, salivary secretion and pupillary size in children. * Evaluate the different routes o-f administration of the three mentioned drugs. A hundred children (2-6 years) were scheduled for various minor surgical procedures. They were divided randomly into ten groups (1O patients each) - Group I is the control group. Group II, III, IV were given oral, I.M, I.V atropine sulphate in doses uf 0.03 mg kg J, 0.02 mg kg ’• , 0.02 (ngKg’~x respectively. Group V, VI, VII were given oral, I.M, I.V hyoscine hydrobromide in doses of 0.035 mg kg”1, 0.01 mg kg™1 &< 0.005 mg kg”J- respectively. |
