Abstract

The present study was carried out to study the behaviour of Brucella abortus RB51, Brucella abortus S19 and Brucella melitensis Revl. vaccines in Guinea pigs including the humoral immune response and persistence of the vaccinal strains in tissues of vaccinates.
The humoral immune response of Guinea pigs against Brucella abortus RB51, vaccine using the rough antigen, showed that sera of vaccinated Guinea pigs reacted positively at the 1st week with a titer of 1/10 (20 I.U) and the titers continued to increase till reached its peak at the 4th week with a titer of 1/80 (160 I.U) and continued till the 7th week with a titer of 1/10 (20 I.U).
Using smooth antigen in TAT as well as BABAT, RBPT and Rivanol test on sera of Guinea pigs vaccinated with RB51, the results revealed complete negative results.
The humoral immune response of Guinea pigs against Brucella abortus S19 was tested using TAT, RBPT, BAP AT and Rivanol test,. The results revealed that sera of vaccinated Guinea pigs reacted positively at the 1st week in all tests and continued up to the 6th week with a peak of 1/80 titer (160 IU) for TAT and 1/100 for Rivanol test at the 4th week.
