Abstract Ankle injuries are among the most common problems seen by physicians in the emergency department. Unfortunately, ankle sprains are not always simple injuries and can result in residual symptoms and late problems occur through lack of proper diagnosis at the time of injury. The aim of our study was to evaluate the role of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of acute sprain ankle. This study was carried out on 50 patients with acute inversion injury to their ankles referred to the department of Radiology, Medical Research Institute, Alexandria University. Their mean age was 32.96 ±9.94 years. 32(64%) were female and 18(36%) were males. |
