Abstract
Dobutamine stress echocardiography has been proposed as a safe and well tolerated, non invasive stress testing for detection of coronarv arterv disease.
The aim of the present work was the detection of ST changes during dobutamine stress test, with assessment of myocardial viability, and left ventricular dyssynergy.
This study included 15 patients; all of them were males, with a mean age of 53.9 vears ± 9.5 suffering from recent acute mvocardial infarction (within 2 weeks). Two of them had previous attacks: six had received thrombolytic therapy. Eight patients had inferior myocardial infarction and seven had anteroseptal infarction.
All patients had no contraindications to dobutamine stress echocardiography.
Every patient was subjected to history taking clinical examination, resting ECG. resting echocardiography, stress electrocardiography, and dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSF).
Determination of heart rate and blood pressure at each stage of the dobutamine infusion allowed quantification of the level of stress.
