Abstract
Anabolic steroids have found a wide spread use in both human and veterinary field, so the study aimed to establish the toxic effects of boldenone undecylenate on 50 mature albino rats, the rats were classified into three groups each of 1st and 2nd groups involved 20 rats and injected with 1mg/kg B.wt and 10mg/kg B.wt respectively, twice every 3 weeks for 6 weeks, the third group injected with sesame oil and served as control group.
At the end of the experiment, all the animals were weighted and then sacrificed. Fresh blood samples were taken from both treated and control rats for sera separation for biochemical analysis, epididymal contents were obtained for assessment of rat fertility testis also were weighted, liver samples were excised immediately after scarification and kept at freezing temperature for extraction and determination of nucleic acids, finally specimens of testes ,prostate ,liver, heart ,kidney, spleen and muscles were obtained and fixed in 10%neutral buffered formalin for the histopathological procedures.
