The samples were taken from different organs of rodents (intestine, kidney, liver, spleen and lung) as well as hair samples and examined bacteriologically and mycologically for detection of pathogens of zoonotic importance.
The obtained results revealed the followings:
1. PATHOGENIC AND POTENTIALLY PATHOGENIC BACTERIA ISOLATED FROM EXAMINED RODENTS:
E. coil (50%), Salmonella (17%), Shigella flexneri (2.5%),
Staphylococcus aureus (14.5%), Streptococcus pyogenes (6.5%),
Streptococcus faecails (27.5 %), Corynebacterium diph therae (1 %),
Corynebacterium pyogenes (17%), Corynebacterium renale (2%),
Kiebsiella pneumoniae (27%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (32%), Proteus
