Abstract Rodents constitutes the most dangerous problems as they coexist with man and sharing him his food as well as conveyed a considerable number of bacterial viral, rickettsial and parasitic diseases. The present study was conducted to show the role of rodents as reservoir of some parasites infesting man and animal so, a total of 56 rodents were identified and examined for the presence of parasites. In additions, 450 patients (250 male and 200 female) were also examined for the presence of the same parasites. The obtained results revealed that: 1- The total incidence of parasitic infestation in the examined rats and human were 57.1% and 17.8% respectively. 2- The incidence of cestodes, nematodes, arthropoda and protozoa in the examined rodents were 23.2, 16.1, 64.3 and 50% respectively. 3- Hymenolepis nana, Hymenolepis dimenuta, were detected in the examined rats at an incidence of 3.6 and 19.6% respectively.
