Abstract
Amaryllis is a lovely .flowering bulb grown. for cut flowers, pot plant and for bedding in gardens.
The present work was carried out at the Experi¬mental Farm. of the Faculty of Agriculture Assuit university¬
at Menia.
The study involved the requirements of amaryllis plants to fertilization and
water supply for better growth and floweringe The investigation included the study of eight rates of fertilizers and four irrigation inter¬vals, and their effect on growth, flowering and bulb yield of three different size bullbs of Hippeastrum vittatum.
Two experiments were conducted for three growing
seasons 1968, 1989 and 1970 in field plots,and the data was statistically analysed.
