Abstract Helicobacter pylori is consider to be one of gastrointestinal pathogen that may cause gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer. This study was planned to spot lights on: - Isolation and identification of H. pylori in cats, dogs and human, serological diagnosis, analysis of H. pylori isolates by using of RAPD markers. - Furthermore samples were subjected to specific PCR to detect ureA subunite of urease gene as one of the virulence factor of H.pylori. To achieve this goal the following points were undertaken: 1) Isolation and identification of Helicobacter pylori from both pet animals (dogs and cats) and from human. 2) Biotyping of the obtained isolates from both human and pet animals for the determination of similarity between the obtained isolates. 3) Performing of enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for serodiagnosis of such microorganism in both pet animals and human serum samples. 4) Performing RAPD PCR were done between the isolates of animal origin (dog and cat) and the isolates of human origin to detect any similarity or difference between them. |
