Abstract

The present work aimed to study the influence of vaccination routes (intraocular — mtranasal — per os — spraying and intramuscular) against IBDV or MDV on the immune response of vaccinated birds, body weight, weight of other organs and
histopathological changes.
The followin2 results were obtained.
(A) Concerning infectious bursal disease viral vaccine:
I (A-i) Vaccination through intraocular route against IBDV revealed that the highest titre of passive haernagglutinating antibodies (titre of 34.4) was obtained at 22 days post-vaccination, and the highet ELISA antibody reading was obtained at 32 days post-vaccination (reading of 1.7). Concerning agar gel precipitating antibodies, it started to be detected at 7 days post-vaccination (2/5 or 40% positives) reaching highest level at 14 days (4/5 or 80% positives) postvaccination then began to decrease and still be detected it the end of the experiment (3/5 or 60% positives). This means that this route for vaccination is the better route of vaccination against IBDV.
