Abstract
the aim of the present work is to compare IgE content in
platelets of atopic and non atopic donners and to search for the
physiological stimuli resulting in the release of IgE by human
platelets.
The work was carried out at Chest Diseases, Tropical Medicine
and ENT Departments of the Mansoura University Hospital, Clinical
rathology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University
Hospitals and Main Military Laboratory Research Cobry EIKoba. 20
atopic patients (11 bronchial asthma and 9 allergic rhinitis) 10
oilharzial patients. In addition, 15 normal apparently healthy non
atopic individuals were included in the study as a control.
All cases were subjected to thorough history taking and clinical
txamination as well as investigations including:
\) CBe, platelet count.
l)Estimation of serum IgE.
J)Estimation of platelet IgE :
After repeated freezing and thawing in liquid nitrogen.
After in vitro addition of the following substances to platelet
suspension :
I) After PAF addition (50 nmol/l)
After Adrenaline addition (50 urnol/L)
After ADP addition (50 umol/L).
