Abstract This work was carried out on the Friesian Cattle of the faculty of Agriculture Farm, Zagazig University , during the eperiod from April 1974 to March 1975. This study included farty mimcls ( 6 Males and 34 Females ) which were divided into three groups according to age • Body temperature, pulse rate and respiration rate were recorded three times daily. The results obtained were as follows s’ There were a seasonal variations in body temperature, pulse rate and respiration rate in all animals • The highest values in body temperature and respiration ~ate were reoorded in Summer during the period of high atmospherio temperature while the lowest values were recorded in Winter during the period of low atmospherio temperature • Spring and Autumn were intermediate between Winter and Summer. The pulse rate was at its lowes~ level in Winter while it Was faster in Autumn. and Spring but slight variations from maximum ooour in Summer. With regard to diurnal variation in 2- body temperature-, pulse rate and respiration rate, it was found that the lowest level for eaoh oocurred in the early morning (7 a.m) during rest and before feeding, but the maximum |
