Abstract A new method for solving the transport equation in the slowing down region is considered. The collision integral is transformed by means of direct operational method to a polynomial of derivatives. The polynomial is approximated by Padé approximation technique. Different orders of Padé approximation give the well known synthetic Kernel. This procedure reduces the solution of the transport integro-differential equation to the solution of partial differential equation. It also gives us the possibility to consider energy dependent cross-section and to get the solution without using integral transform method. By using either direct operational method or similarity solution, the partial differential form of the Boltzman equation is solved. Different orders of the Padé approximation are considered to solve the infinite medium, finite medium and time dependent Boltzman equation. The effectivenessof this procedure is demonstrated by the comparison with other approximations. |
