Abstract Two field experiments were conducted at newly land condition at the experimental research center of Minia university at Shosha farm in west samalout, El-Minia governorate, Egypt, in sandy soil during two successive seasons of 2005 / 2006 and 2006 / 2007, to study the effect of five wheat cultivars and four seeding rates on growth characters, yield and yield components. A split-plot design with four replications was performed where the five cultivars, i.e. Sakha 61, Sakha 93, Sids 1, Giza 168 and Gemmiza 9 were arranged randomly in the main plots, while the four seeding rates of 60, 80, 100 and 120 kg seeds / fed. were randomly assigned to the sub plots |
