Abstract
The present study was carried out as further studies on the protozoan parasites that infect freshwater flab in Egypt, particularly in Beher province.
Two hundred alive catfish (Clarias lazera) specimens were collected from natural Nile resources (Rashid branch) and fish markets at Edfina, Behera province, during the period from l January, 1989 up to the end of December, 1989.
Laboratory examination of the investigated specimens included observation of external symptoms, gross examination and microscopic examination of wet and stained snEers prepared from the internal organs as well as microscopic examination of the faecal samples.
The result of this study revealed the affection of freshwater fish with three coccidian intestinal parasites. These parasites were Qryptosporidium nasorum, Tyzzeria nilotica nsp. and Isospora species.
