Abstract Fifteen nitrogen fixing bacterial isolates were isolated from Egyptian soil. Screening for salinity tolerance was then conducted on these 15 isolates, from which we obtained one salt tolerant strain up to 1100 mM and another salt sensitive strain. They identified as Pseudomonas isolate A4 and Bacillus spp. These two isolates were examined for N2-ase activity, growth, glutamine synthetase activity and respiration. |
