Abstract <The objectives of this investigation were aimed to Study the incidece of mastitis in dairy cows and buffaloes in El- Diabaat and El-Sheikh Makram farms in Sohag G overnorale during the period from June to December1996. 2 — Studying of some laboratory findings which may associate mastitic and non mastitic cows in relation to the concentration of serum vitamin A,B-carotene,vitamin E and selenium. 3- - The interaction between blood serum vit A.,B-carotene, vit E and selenium and incidence of mammary gland infections in dairy cows and buffaloes. A total number of 11 8 dairy cows and buffaloes aged between 2 -9 years were examined during the period from June 1 996 — December 1 996 at same farms in Sohag Governorate for mastitis using CM .T. - blood samples were collected for vitamin A, 13-carotene, vitamin E and selenium analysis. Clinical examination: This study revealed that mastitic cows have normal temperature except in acute forms, also other clinical parameters (pulse, respiration and heart rate) were behaved such as temperature. The udder size (symmetrical) and shape key shaped were normal in 39 cows (92.9%) and in buffaloes were 76 (92.1%) but it was assymemetry size in 3 cows (7. %) and iii buffaloes were 6 (7.9%). |
