Abstract The aim of this work was: 1- To investigate the role of silent myocardial ischaemia in development of coronary collateral circulation. 2- To assess the functional capacity of coronary collaterals developed in patients with silent myocardial ischaemia. It is concluded that there was highly significant improvement of coronary collateral index in patient with silent myocardial ischaemia, also, significant improvement of left ventricular function and wall motion abnormalities detected by echocardiography in patients with good collaterals but non significant changes in perfusion during thallium examination this explained by short time of follow up and may be due to impaired vasomotor reactivity of developed coronary collateral circulation. |
