Abstract

The aim of this study was to compare the serum lipid profile and coagulation factors changes following the use traditional hormone replacement therapy phytoestrogen drugs in postmenopausal women.
Conclusion
The effect of phytoestrogen on lipid profile. It lowered LDL, triglyceride, and total cholesterol level while it increased HDL level.
While the effect of HRT on lipid profile it lowered LDL, and total cholesterol levels while it increased HDL, and triglyceride levels.
The effect of phytoestrogen on coagulation profile. It lowered fibrinogen, prothrombin, and partial thromboplatism time levels, while prothrombin F1+2 were unchanged.
The effect of HRT on coagulation profile that increased fibrinogen level, while lowered prothrombin, and partial thrombplastin time levels, but prothrombin F1+2 were unchanged.
Phytoestrogen was found to be free of any significant adverse effects. Phytoestrogen did not cause vaginal bleeding or breast tenderness. In contrast, almost half of HRT subjects experienced vaginal bleeding and approximately a third of HRT subjects experienced breast tenderness.
