Abstract
Results of this work depends on the data collected from 80 farm fish with 327 production cycle during the period extended from 2001 to 2004, from three localities in Egypt which include Sharkia, Ismalia and Kafr El-Sheikh provinces with four fish species (Tilapia, Carp, Mugil Cephalus and Mugil Capito) in either private or governmental sectors. The collected data was reviewed and statistically analyzed in Animal Wealth Development Department – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Zagazig University.
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of some factors on the production and profitability of fish farms with special reference to the role plays by veterinary practice in increasing and improving economic and productive efficiency of fish farms in Egypt (as most of the fish farmers ignored the importance of veterinary management) .
