Abstract
The present study was accomplished to evaluate web sites used as a source of dental health information, and also to measure the prevalence of Internet use as a source for obtaining health information among Alexandria University students.
The web sites that were chosen to be evaluated were given by the Google search engine by using 13 search terms in different dental specialties. The evaluated sites were the sites published for consumers and non advertising ones.
The evaluated websites were 101 websites, 2 sites took the grade excellent, 3sites were very good, 40 were good, and 50 sites were fair, while only 6 sites were given the grade poor.
Alexandria University was divided into 3 different groups; theoretical faculties, practical faculties and medical faculties. One faculty was randomly drawn from each group as well as the Faculty of Dentistry.
