Abstract

The present study was used to determine the genetic behavior of some wheat
cultivars under various environments (twelve environments) included (2 seasons x 2 water regimes x 3 levels ofN-fertilizer). The plant materials were sown at the experimental farm of Agriculture Research Station at Ismailia during winter 1997/98 and 1998/99 seasons. The results can be summarized as follow:-
l-There were significant differences among wheat cultivars due to water stress and nitrogen treatments.
2-Water stress caused significantly decreasing for all the studied traits among all wheat cultivars. 3- The cultivar Gemmeiza 3 appeared to be more tolerant and stable for drought
stress followed by Sakha 69 and can be used as a promising cultivars in the
future drought breeding programs to develop wheat cultivars suitable for
growing under stress condition.
4- The results indicated that cultivars Gemmeiza 1, Sids 1, Giza 167 and Giza
155 gave the highest grain yield over grand mean of all cultivars under
Favorable environments.
Application field: The result of research can be used for producing some wheat cultivars which give the highest yield and stable for environments under drought and low soil fertility. These cultivars can be recommended for cultivated them under new reclaimed area.
