Abstract
The butylated hydroxy toluene (BHT) is widely used as antioxidant nowadays, so
the objective of the present study is to evaluate the toxic effects of BHT on 75 adult
male albino rats supplemented daily with BliT in two dose levels (500 and 1000 mg /
kg ration) for 30 and lOO successive clays. Results of this study revealed reduction in
body weight as well as weigh! of most internal organs except liver, which showed an
enlargement and significant increase in weight. Liver and kidney dysfunction were
