Abstract

In this study, the investigation of some of blood parasites among wild Clarias gariepinus, and cultured C. carpio, wild and cultured O. niloticus. A total of 490 different sized fish species, collected alive from various water courses and from Manzallah fish farms during different seasons.
The result of this work could be summarized as follows
• Clarias gariepinus infected by blood protozoal parasites. The most clinical signs on the examined fishes infected with trypanosoma and babesiosoma sp. were emaciated bodies and paleness of gills, respiratory distress. Some fishes suffered from skin abrasions, wounds particularly at the base of the dorsal and venteral fins. In advanced stages, dullness and loss of escape reflex. The internal examination of such fishes were recorded as paleness of liver, kidneys, congesion and watery blood.
