Abstract
Aim of the work
Assessment of the effectiveness of upper lid blepharoplasty for correction of dermatochalasis of the upper lid and assessment of its possible complications.
Conclusion
In conclusion blepharoplasty for upper lid derematochalasis is effective in improving the patient symptoms in patients with functional disorders. It produces dramatic improvement in the visual field in patients with obscured vision. Patient satisfaction is easily obtained in patients coming for functional improvement. However, unsatisfaction is more in patients coming from cosmetic reasons.
Complications are usually acceptable and can be managed easily. Awareness of possible blepharoplasty complications and adequate history taking and physical examination can point to areas of concern. If these guidelines are observed, blepharoplasty can be completed that keeps both the physician and patient satisfied.
