One of the major sources, which wasting our environment is oily wastewater, which produced from the refineries. Coagulation flocculation process is widely used in the treatment of wastewater. However, the big problem is the sediments, which produces from the process and its environmental impacts, To overcome these problem-modified clay used as coagulant with the flocculant.
The study carried out on oily wastewater produced from a refinery. Alum and ferric sulphate used as traditional coagulants with and without the modified kaolinetic clay (in three versions). The best-obtained result achieved with the modified kaolinetic clay.
