Abstract Aim of the work: The aim of this study is to evaluate effectiveness of pulmonary rehabilitation program in minimizing clinical impairments, disabilities and handicaps and in improvement of the health related quality of life of both chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthmatic patients. Conclusion: In this study we concluded that pulmonary rehabilitation program is an effective management for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma. Pulmonary rehabilitation can relieve dyspnea during exercise and improve physical activity of the patient and enable him to make his daily activities without limitation by unpleasant sensation of dyspnea in addition that the patient can walk longer distance. Both chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma patients improve equally in dyspnea and walking distance. Pulmonary rehabilitation is strong and vital addition to medical treatment in COPD and asthmatic patients. |
