Abstract In this thesis an attempt is made to applyed a certain class of optimal control theory , known as the state regulator problem power system. We Kim to obtain. an optimal controller improves the s7rotem’s dynamic response. Chapter 1 is introduction in nature. It underlines the impact of the dynamic .behavior problem on present – day power systems. A brief account is given about the previous contributions to ti.)-is topic using both classical and modern control techniques. Tl-.-en Vie scope of work in VAs thesis is exposed at the end of the chapter. A fairly accurate mathematical model for the power system is presented in chapter 2. The model is given in the state variable form is suitable for the application of optimal control techniques.- This model passed thrower a number of evolutions. Idle started with a flux linkage model of the synchronous machine based on Park’s equations and included an automatic voltage regulator. Then we used linear transformations to acheive two goals : to represent the system in the conventional form X w A x + B u, ; and to use measurable states of engineering significance instead of flux linkage quantities. |
