Abstract Among the various statistical techniques of quality control is acceptance sampling plans. The presented work is an extensive study of this technique from the economical point of view. The sampling plan for a product submitted for inspection requires an understanding of the risk involved in order to increase its effectiveness. Therefore many sampling plans have the ability to be applied for inspection, but which one is the best to be chosen, although all of them give the required protection. The design of the required economic plan is introduced in this work and the main factors affecting such design are discussed and evaluated.Such design is based on both the minimum average number of units inspected per lot and the minimum inspection cost. In the first two chapters, the essential basis of acceptance sampling have been developed and the main advantages of sampling inspection Vs.100 per cent inspection have been discussed. The general areas of apllications of acceptance sampling are represented. A review of the previous work has releaved that in most of it,no full consideration to the design of sampling plans regarding the cost of inspection was developed andthose factors affecting such design were not discussed extensively. |
