Abstract The present work deals with genetical and cytological features of anther callus induction , and haploid and diploid regeneration from commercial wheat varieties cultivated in Egypt (i.e. Triticum aestivum L.) A total of 13different wheat genotypes (commerecial cultivars: Giza 139, Giza 155,Giza 163,Giza164, Giza165,Giza166 ,Sakha 69, Sakha88 and Sakha91, as well as new released promising cultivars : Sids 1, Sids 2, Sids3 and Sids5) and five callus induction media were used .so that , this investigation was carried out to study the following objectives: A. the effect of the genotype of the anther donor plants, the applied media and their interaction on callus induction , plant regeneration and cytological . Bthe effect of long-term subculture(callus age) on: the cytological features of secondary ealli , plant regeneration and cytogenetic characteristics of transplanted regenerated plants. C. the effect of colchicines treatment and spontaneous polyploidy. D. pollen grain viability, fertility and agronomic performance of regenerated mature plants. |
