Abstract
This thesis is concerned with the construction of qintlrol jerto2 for iine;ar disrcGe control systems with inaccessible state-variables. TV; c. different approaches are devoloped.
The first approach is termed The Use of ’I’dodel1 lowing Methods tc Generate Suboptimal Feedback lontrol for ’jPjT) Discrete Systems. This approach consists of first computing a complete set of optimal feedback gains and thus generating U , optimal system response which is then used as a model toward which a suboptimal design can strive. A suboptimal control is postulated with zero feedback gains as desired, the remaining gains, being as yet arbitrary. Tine average su-mi’lation error bet-green the model closed-loop
LD response and the suboptimal closed-loop response is then minimized by selection of these remaining feedback gains. Defining equations are derived and parameter optimization methods are u-Gilized -’U-o compute the free feedback gains .
