Abstract In this work a tensile test on specimens having holes with different diameters was carried out to investigate the effect of stress concentration factor on workability when the hole diameter width of specimen (a/w) was increased the values of yield ultimate and fracture strength decreased also the percentage elongation and the percentage reduction in area were decraeased with increasing (a/w) . the value of streain to fracture and also the deformation region width were decreased with increasing (a/w) the stress and shear stress were analysed at the region of fracture and from these values the stress formability index wascalculated controur plots of stress components were obtained also the experimental theoretical calculation an equation of astraight line relating workability function to the stress state was drived for the state was drived for the steel used in the investigation in the case of tension of plate with hole of different diameters |
