Abstract
A. GeneralRRubber is indispensable to modern civilization./ Its existing importance lies in every form of transpOrt
for tyres and inner tubes. About 80 percent of all’ rubber is used in the motor industry, mainly for tyres. A large proportion of the remainder goes into what is known as mechanical goods which include such articles as belting,wires, and cables. Most of these articles are absolutely vital to the operation of the industry in general. Alarge quantity of rubber goods plays an important part in
daily life s,uch as, soles, and heels tor foo twear,rubberized fabric, medical, surgical, dental, and drug
sundries as well as innumerable other types of products.
Rubber has many additional applications, such as in the
packaging industry e.g. artificial leather; as an adhesj-
ve. , in the paint and varnish industry, and in tllermoplb.3-
tic resin industry. Rubber is becoming
