Abstract Gladiolus grandiflorus plants are considered as one of the most important flowering bulbs grown in Egypt. The superb and attractive cut flowers are greatly needed for exportation and for the local market as well during winter and spring seasons. In landscape gardening, gladiolus are successfully used in borders, beds, behined mounding plants that cover lower parts of stems or grow in large containers with low annuals at base. Peter cultivar which characterized with superb attractive light orange flowers is among many other newly introduced gladiolus cultivars to Egypt which needed an overage of agricultural experimentations.
