Abstract
Growing spine has special anatomical and biomechanical characters differing from that of the adult spine, and this makes a difference also in . the nature of pathological and traumatic conditions affecting it. Wfferent types of pathological’ conditions of growing spine have
been discussed in this essay and it, can be concluded that: Internal spinal fixation using metallic systems whenever needed either in congenital end developmental conditions or after tumor removal or after trauma can be done but with the use of the suitable system , suitable size of implants and in proper tim:J This will minimize the hazards of instrumentation specially regarding the spinal growth. Newly advanced systems Ijke growing rod systems, titanium rib and vertebral body stapling also show promising results.
